(Cans) UBC and Classified Material

In RIISA we process large quantities of UBC. We garantee that our aluminum cans are free from pollutants before being baled, specially from lead and iron.

We are interested in having our products meet the highest quality standards. That’s why we analyze the moisture and dirt content of our loose cans and of our final briquettes.

Other similar products are the classified materials which includes:

Class I

Class II

Class III

Class IV

Process:

1.As we receive the material, anything that is not cans (plastic, paper, bags, etc.) is sent back to our supplier immediately.

2.The material is fed through a conveyor into a vibrating screen where all the dust that may be in the cans is taken away.

3.Once the material is out of the screen a group of qualified workers sort out any pollutants that may be left in the cans.

4.By the time the cans arrive to the densities they are totally clean. When the briquettes are done we perform moisture and dirt analysis on them to assure the highest quality.

5.When our cans have passed our quality controls wemake bundles with 48 briquettes, and we load the bundles in the trailer.

-Moisture Content: Max. 3%

-Dirt Content: Max. 1%

-Weight of briquette: 40 pounds

-Dimensions of briquette: 1.7 x 1 x 0.7 feet

-Number of bundles in a trailer: 22 a 23 bundles

Aluminum Scrap

We handle all kinds of scrap that exists on the market. At RIISA we process and classify the scrap according to our clients requirements.

Process:

  1. We receive the aluminum scrap. The first step is to separate the material depending on th composition.Once the material is separated we process the material depending on the needs.
  2. Later it is separated in different types.
  3. We also sell loose material.

Some of our products are:

-Tense

-Wheels

-Mixed

-Pistons

Titanium

In RIISA we handle titanium scrap which we process and classify according to the types of titaniums that exist..

Final product:

 - 6-4 Titanium

- 6-4 Titanium Turnings

- Titanium

-Zirconium

Bronze

In RIISA we are capable of handling the following types of brass:

-Honey (Yellow)

-Ebony (Red)

-Ocean (Auto radiators)

-Heat exchangers

Our brass products are sold under international standards. We´re capable of delivering any given quality to our clients

- Yellow bronze

- red Bronze

- Radiators

- Heat interchangers

Our classified products of bronze are sold under the procedure of classification.

Process:

1. When the material is received, everything that isn´t brass or brass alloys is sent back to our suppliers.

2. The brass is then loaded in a conveyor where it is sorted into different types of brass. This stage frees the material of any iron or pollutant.

3. At the end of the conveyor there is a magnetic pulley to clean further the material and take away any pieces of iron that may be left from the first sorting.

4. The material is packed directly in gaylord boxes which are weighted individually before being loaded in a trailer.

-Weight of a box: 3,500 pounds approx.

-Box dimensions: 3.6 x 3.3 x 3.7 feet

-Number of boxes in a trailer: 15 boxes

Radiators

In RIISA we handle different types of Radiators.

Process:

1. We classify the radiators depending on their composition so that they can we baled.

2. The bales are made of classified material.

Products:

-Heat Radiators

-Aluminum-Copper Radiators

-Automotive Radiators

Zinc

In RIISA we separate and classify all the different types of zinc alloys.

Process:

1.We receive the scrap and dross

2. Then we separate the material and process it meeting the expectations and requirements of the customers.

Products:

-Zinc Dross

-Al-Zn Dross

-Zinc Dust

Copper

In RIISA we accept and process almost any kind of copper pieces, pipes, wire or turnings that fall into the following categories:

-Copper #1. (Berry/Candy)

-Copper #2. (Birch/Cliff)

Process:

1. We receive the material, and send back immediately all the material that is not copper-based.

2. We sort the copper into its different qualities, copper #1 and copper #2

3. We feed the material into the baler and we process it until we have the right dimensions.

4. Each one of the bales are weighted before they are loaded in the trailer.

Aluminum Alloys

We have the capacity to produce any alloy you need, and the equipment necessary to verify the quality and composition.

We are specialists in the production of alloys from series 380, 360 and 319. Our skilled group of engineers can help you choose the right alloy for your process.

We also carry primary ingots like P-1020.

Process:

1. We select the scrap required for the alloy, based on its chemical content (this is checked with our spectrometer).

2. We melt the scrap in our reverberatory furnaces and make sure we have a homogeneous melt before we do any fine adjustments.

3. The chemical composition of the melt is checked with a spectrometer and based on the reading any necessary fine adjustment are done.

4. When the molten aluminum is ready we pour it into an automatic ingot conveyor in order to have the same dimensions for every ingot.

-Weight of ingot: 24 pounds.

-Ingot dimensions: 4 x 26 x 3 in.

-Alloys: 380,360 y 319

-Primary: P-1020

Twitch

In RIISA we process and classify the scrap according to our clients requirements.

Our specialty is twitch (shredded cast aluminum), a product that we handle in large quantities. For this process we have two aluminum shredders that can shred up to 30 metric tons per hour. This material is guaranteed to be iron free (physical an chemical) and low in zinc.

Process:

1. When we receive the material we sort it according to its chemical composition.

2. Then the material is passed through a series of conveyors where a second sorting occurs.

3. After the second series of conveyors the material is fed into the shredder where it is shredded.

4. Once the material is shredded, the iron and other pollutants are removed with a series of magnets.

5. When the material is free from pollutants it is passed through vibrating screens in order to take away any dust that may be left in it.

6. After the last stage the twitch is checked by qualified inspectors to be sure that there are no pollutants left in it. Random samples are taken to check the chemical composition of it before it is packed.

7. Finally the twitch is packed directly through a conveyor into super sacks.
